Burial Hex – In Psychic Defense

Burial Hex – In Psychic Defense
    Label: Cold Spring
    Format: CD, Compilation
    Country: UK
    Released: 07 Apr 2014
    Style: Dark Ambient, Experimental, Industrial

Burial Hex is a composition cycle of Post-Industrial music, dubbed “Horror Electronics”, by Clay Ruby. With a progressive mix of influences as far-reaching as vintage Industrial and Power Electronics, Kosmische Music, Black Metal, Techno and Electro, Early Music and Contemporary Classical, these dynamic compositions are simply unclassifiable. This compilation continues the stunning trajectory of the previous Cold Spring reissue collection, “Book of Delusions”, falling even further into the spiraling abyss of ritual music made in preparation for the Final Mysteries in the twilight of this Kali Yuga. Collecting tracks from various out-of-print vinyl releases, including In Psychic Defense, The Tower, Fantasie und Fuge, Hunger, and the highly sought-after “A Kiss To Birth The Rotted Sun” from the WVNDRKMMER 5xCS compilation, this volume is a welcome addition to every Burial Hex collection, as well as an ideal introduction for the Horror Electronics neophyte.

    Pylar – La Gran Obra

    Pylar – La Gran Obra
    Label: Sunneurosis Records
Format: CD, Album Limited to 250 copies
    Country: Spain
    Released: 2016
    Style: Experimental, Avantgarde, Doom Metal

After the successful second album, PYLAR collective returns with a new release: La Gran Obra. This CD is limited to 250 copies (a number that touches upon the threshold of madness) and is inspired by Alchemy.
In the same way as the alchemical process, La Gran Obra is divided into three parts: Nigredo, Albedo and Rubedo. Throughout this piece, the enigmatic heresiarchs manage to manipulate the lost language of colour and the complex esoteric symbolism of ancient science, dropping clues to the follower and allowing them to walk down the path of the ineffable.
The second side, Speculum (ArboNargAl), is a perfect mirror image of the first. In a sense, an infinite loop has been created between the two sides with the purpose of bending time and entering a level of existence where our subconscious memories live.

PYLAR has once more presented us with a veil which we can choose to lift in search of the key to uncover the last of their holy mission.

    Bionulor ‎– Sacred Mushroom Chant

    Bionulor ‎– Sacred Mushroom Chant
    Label: Wrotycz Records
    Format: CD, Album
    Country: Poland
    Released: 07 Jan 2011
    Style: Experimental, Ambient

Created on the basis of author’s creative method called the “100% sound recycling” (treatment of the human voice without additional sounds or instruments).

Inspired by the work of such artists as Aube and William Basinski, Bionulor again rakes the past, looking like an alchemist for the most appropriate material for his work. “Sacred Mushroom Chant” is a record created solely on the basis of treatment of the human voice without additional sounds or instruments.

Each of the five tracks is based on a separate part of the sound source. Then the base is: an archival record of shamanic chant associated with the ceremony of taking hallucinogenic mushrooms, a Japanese traditional song extracted from a collection of old vinyl records, Neil Armstrong’s walking on the lunar surface famous phrase, a fragment of an interview with Marcel Duchamp telling about his first ready-made, and finally the voice of the artist himself denouncing the sentence attributed to Hassan ibn Sabbah (“Nothing is true”).

Over 50 minutes of pure experimental music (mix of minimal, ambient and even noisy sounds) created on the basis of author’s creative method called the “100% sound recycling.” You will be really impressed when you realize that those tracks were crafted only with scraps of samples.

Cover art by Monika Machnik, mastered by Peter Andersson. Comes in 4-panel digipack.
