Antikatechon’s (Davide Del Col) musical universe invites the listener to travel through deep and eerie soundscape experiences which profoundly affect our emotions, generate powerful images and vivid metaphors about human finitude, psychic confinement and the otherworld. This new album carries on Antikatechon’s aesthetics for isolationist soundscapes, bleak noises and darkly industrial musical excursions. Melodic piano passages are offered by French neoclassic ambient project DAY BEFORE US on one track, while the ethno-ritual and eclectic droning based project NIMH is featured on another epic piece of the album. This release is beautifully accompanied by enigmatic and ominous photographs of Bactrian Arts. With its melodious mystical resonances, disembodied guitar drones and nasty noisy incantations “I Feel Nothing but Repulsion” is an essential opus in the post industrial and doom ambient world.

Day Before Us – Crystal Sighs Of A Broken Universe

Label: Twilight Records – TW 1.128
    Format: CD, Album, Limited Edition
    Country: France
    Released: 17 Nov 2014
    Style: Dark Ambient, Modern Classical

DAY BEFORE US , a well know band for their previous two full length albums released by the Polish label Rage in Eden, now under TWILIGHT RECORDS and working as a bi-national duet (fr/gr) Day Before Us explores a musical register which consists to subvert stylistic boundaries for a creative dialogue between ethereal folk lyricism, piano based neoclassical minimalism and dark ambient instrumentation. The whole musical odyssey is surrounded by a hazy feeling of nostalgia. Twilight Records presents here the result of this original musical syncretism.

Partly impregnated by mytho-poetries from Greece and epic poems from the European romantical period, “Crystal sighs of a broken universe” explores the dark corner of our imagination, in search of hidden or veiled symbolical truths. Taking advantage of a stylistic diversity and taking its substance from deeply organic sound-textures, the collection of pieces gathered for this edition orientates the listener into a vast palette of emotions.
