Sam De La Rosa – Chameleon
Label: Burka For Everybody ‎– BFE 022
    Format: Vinyl, 12″
    Country: Spain
    Released: 27 Jun 2014
Style: Synth-pop, New Wave, Minimal, Experimental

In his last album, Sam De la Rosa, known for being Led Er Est´s lead singer, features a sound that resonates with sci-fi soundtracks and, by means of structure, depicts an aural yet lethargic ascension to outer space.

His obscure and rusty pop songs, incorporating sounds coming into contact with oxygen tempered by folk forms, develop like roots that break up solitary urban concrete that looks back at abandoned geodesic domes.“ Elvis Von Doom

    Bronze – In Stone

Label: Burka For Everybody ‎– 31
    Format: Vinyl, LP, 180 gr
    Country: Spain
    Released: 31 Aug 2015
    Style: Experimental, Psy-Trance

The third album by San francisco psychedelic synth wave trio BRONZE.

Bronze is Brian D. Hock, Rob Spector and Miles Friction. This trio coalesced in 2006 when Hock returned to San Francisco from Berlin after splitting with his former band The Vanishing and moved into a warehouse with Spector, who was a long time collaborator in the S.F. musik scene. Friction was enlisted shortly thereafter and the three began experimenting with synthesizers, samplers, vocals and heavy repetitive rhythm via live drums. After a european tour opening for Erase Errata and grip of singles they recorded their first album “Copper” released on New York’s “RVNG Intl” in 2011. Numerous U.S. and European tours followed and in 2014 they released their 2nd full length “World Arena” on Los Angeles label “Not Not Fun” The sound of “Bronze” is influenced by psychedelic synth musik, punk, wave, industrial and jazz, blended into a heavy cocktail of sonic witchery. 2015 will see also the release of a live album on John Dwyer’s (Thee Oh Sees) Castleface Records.

Edition: Mastered by Rude 66 / Tape edition through Not Not Fun records

“Few bands perplex like San Fran riddler trio Bronze but ever fewer have managed to hatch and hone such an obliquely singular sound. The group’s third long-player, In Stone, twists and burns through eight new iterations of their classic oscillator-fusion psychedelia, inflected with shades of post-punk raga, skronk lurch, modal incantantion, deep space narcosis, lizard kingmanship, and home-wired industrial dementia. As an album, these recordings skew tenser, twitchier, a touch paranoiac, bloodshot tweakers stalking steep foggy streets. The alchemy of drummer Brian Hock, vocalist Rob Spector, and electronicist Miles Friction is always riveting in the live sphere but In Stone feels like more of a studio document, exploratory and expressionistic, full of ideas and psychic interplay. Bay Area burnout rendered as psychotropic sculptural waveforms. Confusion isn’t sex, it’s something stranger. Black tapes mastered by Ruud 66 with J-cards designed by the band.”

Umberto – Prophecy Of The Black Widow

Label: Burka For Everybody – 024
    Format: Vinyl, LP, Repress
    Country: Spain
    Released: 15 Sep 2014
    Style: Ambient

“… Matt Hill presents his sophomore Umberto album. It follows on from the Giallo soundtrack style he brilliantly aped on ‘From The Grave…’ deeper into the bowels of the early ’80s sound, leering creepily at John Carpenter and the more bewitching ends of Italo disco and new wavey bits. Many have tried this sound – step forward Zombi, Gatekeeper, Francesco Clemente, Anton Maiovvi – but far fewer have achieved it with as much grain and VHS-warped eeriness as this. It feels more like James Ferraro has locked onto a killer Giallo collection in his dream dungeon and authentically immersed himself in their soundtracks, recreating their mood, tension and gothic mise-en-scene with scary accuracy, from the witch disco of ‘The Psychic’ and ‘Night Stalking’ to the Eurozone emotions of ‘Red Dawn’ and the Goblin-esque ‘Widow Of The Web’, all the while keeping a sly sliver of knowing cheekiness tucked in the top pocket. By the time you reach the ascending end-title arpeggiations of ‘Everything Is Going To Be Okay’ it’s time for another oversized pizza and 10 gallon bottle of cola. Sick record … Highly Recommended!” Boomkat.

    Puissance – Grace Of God

    Label: Equilibrium Music – EQM017
    Format: CD, Album, Enhanced
    Country: Portugal
    Released: 31 Jan 2007
    Style:Modern Classical, Industrial, Ambient

The cogwheels on the Puissance warmachine are back to work, as defiant and innovative as ever. “Grace of God” re-invents the current notion of Martial-Pop, with their own superior combination of sumptuous Neo-Classical and Industrial music.

Three years after “State Collapse”, the cogwheels on the Puissance-warmachine have been fine-tuned and put to work again, in a crushing motion that seems to be as defiant and innovative as ever. Forerunners in blending post-Industrial soundscapes with seemingly Wagnerian inspired classical scores, the Swedish duo’s controversial portrayal of human life often tends to raise a mix of conflicting feelings towards them.

In keeping with such tradition, this return by Puissance serves as a lucid statement on current world affairs. In Soderlund’s own words, “"Grace of God”is partially meant as a commentary on contemporary events both social and political. Our goal is to inform yet retain a poetic undertone to frame our analysis of world politics and objectives. This album focus heavily on the foreign policy of western civilizations particularly inspired by neoconservatives and other proponents of economically based genocides in third world countries. Rather than subscribing to any political agenda, Puissance stands out as artists against the political and financial motives that have led up to numerous unresolvable conflicts that are on the verge of plunging us into the third world war.“

Musically, "Grace of God” could well be referred to as a re-definition of the currently over-abused Martial-Pop term, yet Puissance’s own superior combination of sumptuous Neo-Classical and Industrial elements raises any potential Pop anthem to an entirely distinct level. More melodic and vocal-oriented than before, this latest opus also comes to expose a more rhythmic approach that had been hinted at in previous releases, but which has now morphed into a powerful and relentless driving force in Söderlund and Möller’s compositions. Compellingly militant as well as beautifully apocalyptic, “Grace of God” finds Puissance in top form, presenting a fine compendium of all bits and pieces that the band have been flirting with throughout their career and incorporating them in a unique style which will again set new standards, as they have been known to do in previous outputs.

    Puissance  – Mother Of Disease

    Label: Equilibrium Music – EQM021
    Format: CD, Album, Reissue, Remastered
    Country: Portugal
    Released: 31 Mar 2008
    Style: Modern Classical, Industrial

In the year 1999, while mankind sat unnaware of their fate and wondering if the moon would drift away into the far reaches of space as the XXth century came to an end, Puissance would reappear, clad in shining armour.

With the Industrial rust of early days properly polished, the Swedish duo would further explore their talent for graceful arrangements set to Militaristic Neo-Classical music. Following the overtly confrontational offerings of “Let Us Lead” and “Back In Control”, Puissance were now set to resurrect the ghosts of Cold War and the obsession with all things thermonuclear that haunted the planet – the Mother of Disease, as they would call it – over that period. Brooding hymns to suicidal heroism, devotional praises to a new god that would finally bring closure to the human race, the screeching of metal twisting and melting – all of this would find its place in Puissance’s own beautiful vision of the impending apocalypse, that they so ingeniously depict on “Mother of Disease”.

“Mother of Disease” is the third full length album produced by Puissance, and also their third re-issue on Equilibrium Music, following the early “Let Us Lead” and “Back In Control” releases, and last year’s new album, “Grace of God”. Much like it’s predecessors on this fine collection, it has been re-mastered and enhanced with one bonus track, presented in a matte-blue deluxe digipak edition.

“Leading the Iron Resistance” is a work that raises a warning flag against the false freedom of our age, and which seeks to inspire new ways of resistance through Unity. A work that documents values and virtues that now seem lost, echoing through muddy recordings filled with blaring horns and somber narrations from days past. A work that beckons a call to arms, set to the pace of martial percussions, stirring orchestrations and powerful choirs. A work that instills the forging a new Man, under the leadership of ARDITI!

    Lupercalia – Florilegium

    Label: Equilibrium Music – EQM005
    Format: CD, Album
    Country: Portugal
    Released: 2004
    Style: Modern Classical, Neofolk

In the finest Italian Neo-Classical Medieval/Gothic Italian tradition, Lupercalia’s second album blends together Eastern and European influences in an alchemical creation produced by top-notch musicianship and a strong soprano voice.

“Florilegium” is a Latin word meaning a ‘collection of script’, a ‘literary anthology’. This second album of the duo LUPERCALIA was born with a change of line-up, when the soprano singer Claudia Florio joined Riccardo Prencipe, the founding member of the project.

Riccardo, a skilled multi-instrumentalist, who handles classical guitar, orchestral synth and dulcimer, is also the person responsible for the arrangements on the album, put together with the intention of giving birth to a soundtrack for a movie that exists only in his own imagination. Said soundtrack is further enhanced by orchestration performed by a real string quartet and by the impressive work of solo violinist Gianluca Uccio.

Claudia’s bold delivery and the Latin lyrics used contribute to the wide canvas of moods and emotions portrayed on “Florilegium”, a collection of elaborate and complex tracks where Arabic flavoured melodies clash headfirst into Medieval inspired Neo-Classical compositions, drawing into a single soundscape various elements otherwise alien to each other.

An ancient, and often hazy and surreal, aura haunts “Florilegium” – the perfect result from the combination between Riccardo’s medieval art studies and Claudia’s alchemical teachings, applied to the inspiration found in various old monuments and traditional melodies (such as the XII century pilgrim’s song that they have recreated for this recording).
