    Miazma ‎– Miazma

    Label: Dark Vinyl Records
    Format: CD, Album
    Country: Germany
    Released: 19 Jan 2018
    Style: Gothic Rock

Miazma has, in the present form, existed since the fall of ’99. It originally started out back in early ’97 as a techno duo consisting of Kristian Olofsson and Tomas Tornevall, but due to the difference in musical influences Tomas left the project to pursue a solo career.

Miazma has since the split evolved towards a darker style of music but remnance of the techno from which Miazma was based can still be heard in many of the songs…

The first example of this new sound was made available with the release of ”Judgement Day” in June 2001. It featured 7 tracks and, at the time, a fresh blend of electro-industrial metal. In December of 2002 ”17” was released. This was somewhat of a step away from the harder electrometal. In August 2004 ”Shattered” picked up where ”Judgement Day” left off. Miazma was back again with 9 heavy tracks where the style from the 2001 release was taken to another level.

In September 2007 ”Dollar Rush” was released, featuring 13 tracks continuing the always ongoing evolution of Miazma…

August 2011, after four years of silence and ten years after the very first release Miazmas fifth album is made available, and for the first time, this album is also available for purchase in addition to being free. This time around there is 11 tracks taking the sound from ”Dollar Rush” another step forward.

    Hunting Lodge ‎– 1982-1989

Label: Dark Vinyl Records ‎– DV74
Format: CD, Album, Compilation, Limited Edition
    Country: US
    Released: 14 Jul 2017
    Style: Experimental, Industrial, Post-Punk

HUNTING LODGE can be seen as one of the few real “Industrial ” pioneers in the early 80`s (beside SPK, LUSTMORD, THROBBING GRISTLE ..) “1982 – 1989” represents the “song oriented” side of a band that evolved relentlessly throughout its 8 years of existence. Incl. the remastered / restored version of the legendary underground club hit: “Tribal Warning Shot” Lon C. Diehl & Richard Skott met in Port Huron, Michigan, a “rust belt” town bordering Canada, in 1981, and quickly bonded over their fascination with the music of T.G., SPK, M.B., and Dome. The duo, having previously been involved in separate musical projects, decided to join forces and Hunting Lodge was born. Joined by Karl Nordstrom, the trio mixed synthesizers, bass, metal & electronic percussion, time-shifting effects, and vocals into a dark sonic stew. Nordstrom moved to San Francisco after the recording of the first Hunting Lodge release, the cassette-only At The Harrington Ballroom (1982). Diehl now employed a Roland Synth, Sequencer & 808 drum machine. Skott added his guitar to the musical arsenal, which he used to trigger a Korg MS-20 synth and a vocoder. Diehl and Skott continued recording at a feverish pace, and their first LP, WILL (track 14) was released in 1983.

    HIEMIS – Nachtstücke

    Hiemis – Nachtstücke
    Label: Gradual Hate Records – GH04 MP3
    Format: Digital
    Country: Spain
    Released: 2018
Style: Drone, Dark Ambient, Esoteric Ambient

Nachtstücke is a tribute to the world of the paranormal, especially to the mesmerism that permeated the exalted work of E.T.A. Hoffmann. Hoffmann was not only a man of letters, but also a musician and a painter. During his lifetime, he published many stories, some later profoundly influencing Poe. We could mention ‘The Devil’s Elixirs’, ‘The Sandman’, and «Vampirismus». History, technique and style are the tools to create a masterpiece, which the author uses to create chilling, dramatic and deep stories where many of the innovative ideas are anticipated, from which many writers and musicians would be nurtured, including Strauss at Elektra .

The environments are gloomy. The night, the silence, the inexplicable forces of nature serve as a resource to accentuate the horror. The outcome, like any good story, leaves a doubt about death and madness, since both serve as an appetizer to a constant engine: fear. As Adolfo Bioy Casares would say «old as fear, fantastic fictions come before letters».

«Nachtstücke» is a look at that universe where disturbing characters live that become oracles, supposedly trivial images that contain a mystery, as well as threatening inventions that never cease to amaze us. Thus, dreams, magnetism, telekinesis, sleepwalking, hunches, premonition, and telepathy compose the stuff of this disturbing reality. That parallel world in which we all live, and it is made of chance, intuitions, fears, mysteries. . . Hoffmann explored, in everyday life, that hidden reality that can be guessed in dreams, visions, ghosts, funeral stories, scientific machinations. In short, a world full of strange and mysterious forces, which are capable of playing with the life and illusions of all of us.
