    The return of one of the most amazing industrial acts :

    The conception of of Czech ensemble SKROL arised from the visions of its spiritual father Vladimír Hirsch (composer, keyboards, drums, programming, vocal) in autumn 1995, when hewas joined by Martina Sanollová-Sweeney (vocal) and Tom Saivon (lyrics, noise structures).Formation employing original principles of composition, with added depth of classical program influences. Their inspiration derives mainly from Slavic melodic and harmonic systems, Album New Laws / New Orders was originally instrumental suite of Vladimír Hirsch, created in the beginning of 2000. Later, some of tracks from that composition were together with some unreleased pieces from the period 1996-1999 reworked as fully conceptual title of the ensemble. SKROL majestic and uncompromising music is based on specific melodiousness and orchestration of contemporary neoclassical music, situated in the arch of industrial ambient and brutalized by noises and modern technology sounds. This album represents some “swan song” of the band, that definitely discontinues the activities by it. Probably, that is why musicians eclectically capitalise here all the forms used until now.

    The artist’s interests are deep rooted in the ancient Iberian culture and traditions.
    Their music is a mix of traditional Pyrenne Folk and heathen Battle and Hunting-songs. Their first fullength-album „Viejo Mundo“ is a tale narrated by an old man as his last legacy to a casual traveler.
    In a hut and near by fire the traveler will be the depositor of ancient knowledge about forgotten gods, wisdom of life, tradition and statements of war.
    All lyrics and singing is in spanish or catalan language.
    A wide range of instruments is used, on top of them accordion, guitars, drums and flutes. ÀRNICA creates wild and rural atmospheres, quite similar to their friends from STURMPERCHT, but just from the opposite part of the holy Alps.

    Kraschau’s long-awited third full-length album is maybe their most epic work among all. It shows the depths and heights of the martial/industrial/neoclassical genre with sinister, monotonous industrial loops and heavy bears and with glorius, sublime neoclassical anthems. It also summarizes their previous works (Offenbarung, Falanx & Unitas – the split with Kriegsfall-U.), by making a special, alternative version of one track from each. With that ‘éncore’ section, Une Foi d’Acier is more than an hour long work in 13 tracks.

    The album is dedicated to the christian victims and marthyrs of two major conflicts of the 20th century: the Mexican ‘Cristero’ war and the Spanish civil war, but also deals with the confused 20th century history of the project’s origin, Austria-Hungary and the Central-European region.

    Musically, it continues to expand and incorporate more and more styles, like it’s predecessor, Falanx: as ‘usual’, you can find Kraschau’s self-composed and played neoclassical synth parts, but most of the songs are going back to the roots of industrial music and they are more based on various, monotonous samples and loops. Furthermore the album makes experiments in incorporating power industrial and contemporary classical music and even ‘lighter’ electronic sounds.
