European myths and legends meet experimental (Neo-) Folk
On their third album “Goddess” (2004), Hekate take a look at various European myths and folktales and deal with e.g. the legends of Morgana le Fay, Montségur, Barbarossa, or the ancient bull cult of Crete. Music-wise, they create a successful mixture of classic Folk, medieval melodies, and modern elements, all linked by the drum-parts ranging from magic-ritualistic to classical-orchestral and trance-electronic. The rhythms and the vocals of Susanne Grosche and Axel Menz are the main features of this mature album recorded with an array of diverse instruments (gongs, kettledrums, drums, percussive devices, hurdy-gurdy, guitars, and glockenspiel).
Originally released in 2000 by Well of Urd, “Sonnentanz”, the first album release by Hekate without limitation, became something of a cornerstone of German Neofolk. Conceptionally dedicated to the free spirit of the ‘Bündische Jugend’ (German youth movement) and the ‘Edelweißpiraten’ (Edelweiss pirates), Germany’s “lost youth” of the 1930s, Hekate’s music here is marked by a folkloric acoustic style that sets the standards for the years to come. This re-release is presented in a portrait-format Digipak including revised artwork and liner-notes and is limited to 700 copies.

Commemoration brings together my work from 1998 to 2003, 5 years when, as you will see, I recorded a lot. Minimalist, factual, often dark and very pessimistic, that’s how I conceived Derniere Volonteat that moment. My equipment was very rudimentary, my texts quickly written on crumpled books, all recorded often in one or two days. It was perhaps the moment, that I was the most productive and also, by anger, the most inventive. A few years ago I started to think of a new edition of Commemoration, a review of those years of ‘iron and lead’, the testament of my ‘anti light’. This is Commemoration in its new edition. Twelve years after their last studio effort «Weiland», Empyrium – the masters of natural ambiances set to music – return with a much-anticipated new album. Notwithstanding their creative break, «The Turn Of The Tides» is an Empyrium-album par excellence, although it bears strong testimony to the artistic and personal growth Schwadorf and Helm have undergone since 2002. The pre-published songs «The Days Before The Fall» (from the compilation «Whom The Moon A Nightsong Sings», 2010) and «Dead Winter Ways (released in November 2013 as a limited vinyl-EP) have already implied that for their new material, Empyrium draw on different forms of musical expression more confidently than ever, yet do not shy away from the wide range their oeuvre has offered so far. Concurrently with the music, the conceptional aspect of «The Turn Of The Tides» attests to a mature and evolved elaboration on Empyrium’s essence. Nature and human emotion as reflected in it still remain subject matter of the songs, but here, too, Helm and Schwadorf choose a more abstract approach. «The Turn Of The Tides» adresses cycles, both within nature – the tides of the sea, the change of seasons, the eternal circulation of water – as well as human life, and insinuates how everything rediscovers itself in everything.

Here’s the second episode of the triptych dealing with Miss Célestine Orlac, reported missing in East Europa on a mysterious trip during the period between the wars… As always, it is limited to 500 copies and comes with a wonderful design.
«Praha», the first episode of the triptych, was highly accl aimed and quickly sold out when released… «Wien», musicaly speaking, is probably the most powerful act of the series (and maybe from the band’s history ever), as «Budapest», the (temporarily) final chapter (to be released in 2006) is already announced as the quietest… No needs to say the highest standards of the band are totally maintained here.
Camilo Sesto fue un artista que se centró en la visceralidad del sentimiento humano al que no se le conoce acompañante alguno. Desde esa apariencia de rostro estéril y plástico nos desgranó los secretos de cómo sentir a los humanos, contra todo pronóstico, de forma espontánea y no premeditada un grupo de artistas definitivamente malditos decidieron rendir tributo a Camilo desde propuestas musicales distintas y distantes.
Camilo Blanes Cortés (Alcoy, 16 de septiembre de 1946-Madrid, 8 de septiembre de 2019), más conocido por su nombre artístico Camilo Sesto, fue un cantante, compositor e intérprete español de balada romántica, pop y rock.
El cantautor alicantino fue una de las voces insignia de España, galardonado en 2011 con la medalla «Máximo Orgullo Hispano», entregada en la ciudad de Las Vegas (Estados Unidos). Con más de 40 producciones discográficas y gracias a su frenética actividad en las décadas de 1970 y 1980, fue uno de los intérpretes con mayor cantidad de números 1, con 52 en total, y 18 en la lista de Los 40 principales. Se estima que sus ventas superan los 180 millones de copias.
Como compositor, escribió canciones para artistas como Miguel Bosé, Ángela Carrasco, Sergio Fachelli, Lani Hall, José José, Audrey Landers, Lucía Méndez y Manolo Otero, entre otros. En 1975, protagonizó el papel de Jesús en la ópera rock Jesucristo Superstar…

CCF (Col·lectiu Camí Fondo) es un proyecto de poesía electrónica visual creado con deconstrucciones sonoras a partir de samplers, secuenciadores, laptops y sonidos orgánicos a manos de JJ Doc. La voz de Josep Lluís Furió ,con la suculenta selección de poemas y textos de varios poetas como: Estellés, Bukowsky, D. Thomas, Brecht, Gil de Biedma, T. Climent, Cohen, entre otros. Las artes visuales creadas y apropiadas por Epi Neuraska dará la estética del audiovisual resultante en directo. Cuando se escucha por primera vez al Col·lectiu Camí Fondo nuestros sentidos quedan a la espera, no se asuste pues, si después de una sesión de relajantes latigazos sensoriales se siente desorientado o incluso con mayor ubicación que al comienzo de la sesión. Recuerde que el objetivo radica en la intencionalidad de su persona, y que Col.lectiu Cami Fondo no es ningún remedio milagroso sino el medio por el cual usted conseguirá – si se lo propone – sumirse en una atmósfera creada única y exclusivamente para su propio placer.
Como hemos advertido, Col·lectiu Camí Fondo versa en gran medida sobre el espectador, de forma qué, sus composiciones sonoras, el relato sincero y los campos visuales que lo conforman, adquieren diferentes perspectivas en tanto el público con el que se encuentre. Así pues, la figura del espectador en C.C.F queda apartada de la escena artística para pasar a formar parte de la atmósfera como actor y ejecutor de las propias sensaciones ahí percibidas.
De esta manera, las sinuosas, profundas y atrayentes imágenes de nuestro escenario pasan a tener un significado especial con cada actuación; las encolerizadas, salvajes pero delicadas distorsiones sonoras se sienten a cada encendido con una energía diferente y la profunda, majestuosa y solemne frecuencia vocal consigue ora que percibamos su misma grandiosidad, ora la más extrema sencillez.
Es importante decir, que la manera de absorber una actuación de C.C.F debe tomarse siempre desde una distancia que haga posible el englobe de sus tres lenguajes, pues lo sublime de este colectivo se encuentra justo en el punto medio. Un buen entendimiento de su obra se debe a la buena comunicación de estos tres lenguajes artísticos que tanto distan entre sí, pero que este proyecto artístico, a base de gran sentimiento y vocación, ha conseguido encontrar los vasos comunicantes entre estos diferentes campos artísticos y crear en su conjunto lo que autodenominan como Poesía Electrónica Visual, que no significa más que la simple incursión de lo sensitivo en lo que meramente denominamos techné, o lo que es lo mismo, hacer de la escritura un poema, del sonido una canción y de la imagen un recuerdo, y todo ello a su vez y en su justa medida la llamada Poesía Electrónica Visual.
De esta manera y advertido de los efectos secundarios, dispóngase del modo adecuado para disfrutar de la mejor forma posible de un gran proyecto que es Col·lectiu Camí Fondo. Y no olvide que a cada diferente actuación a la que asista es posible que, olvide donde estaba antes o incluso, se encuentre más situada que nunca.

Insane Muzak es el sello discográfico y proyecto de Alex Carretero, dedicado a la escena underground de cassettes (experimental, noise, industrial, sound art) de los años 80 en España.
«To Be A Man» es una canción de Camilo Sesto originalmente incluida en su álbum «Sólo Un Hombre» de 1972. Una muestra de su gran talento, es una auténtica bomba de funk psicodélico. En este edit de Insane Muzak, la he intentado transformar en un tema de noise y power electronics, incorporando en algunas partes la voz de Camilo de su canción «Getsemani».

The Wyrm, es un proyecto artístico multidisciplinar donde todas sus manifestaciones han sido siempre desde un principio aquellas que intentan atraer el mundo invisible de las sombras y todo lo que en el habita a nuestra realidad. Un ritual. Una broma de mal gusto. Una copia de otra mala copia. Algo real. Siempre nocturno y peligroso, mentiroso, espiritual. Un hito en la musica undergound española imposible de clasificar. El proyecto que nace en 2004, ha sido orquestado, financiado y apuñalado al corazón de la humanidad por el único artista, ahora mago, conocido como Indrid Cold.The wyrm es una wunderkammer, es una vía iniciática no apta para nadie. La muerte y todo lo que a ella la acompaña, las noches del norte que son eternamente invernales, el frío de los lugares malditos y el mareo que producen de los lugares mágicos. In March 2017 :werra: will bring a fresh gust of wind to the Neofolk scene with their new release “vente vent”. Six years after their debut “MMI-MMV” the musicians return with a full-length album that is interconnected by the motive of the wind of change.
The album is comprised of catchy tunes, driving melodies and dreamy songs. It stands in the tradition of its predecessor with both original lyrics and traditional poetry set to music. The band – which has grown into a trio since the debut – continues to bring new accents to traditional Neofolk. Especially the accordion adds more dynamic and depth while preserving the distinctive :werra: sound.

Not only by virtue of its well-known title track can “Death Of The West” be considered a true classic of the Sol Invictus back catalogue. This album, originally released in 1994, was supposed to be a mini CD only, but Tony Wakeford got carried away by the recordings and cut a few old classics with a new livery. As always, this re-release is limited to 700 copies and comes in a portrait-format Digipak with revised artwork and liner notes. It includes bonus material in the shape of the songs from the mini CD “Above Us The Sun” that was also released back in 1994.
