    Tracklist

The video disc «Vizualizacija» by St. Petersburg-based project Vetrophonia (Alexander Lebedev-Frontov & Nick Soudnick) consists of several parts. First of all, this is the completely new multimedia album created in 2013-2016 with the help of Yuri Kovalskiy (Worms, Monument Straha), entitled «33 1/3». The album is comprised of the carefully crafted half-hour long collage of various industrial and retro-futuristic sketches, analogue video-noises and meticulously constructed soundtrack perfectly matching the visual part. Despite the quite abstract nature of this work, it keeps the viewer in suspense during all its length and dense saturation of images is compensated by the peculiar sense of humour. The disc also contains the digital version of the live material «Turning Virgings Into Doves» originally released in 1996 on VHS, and the recording of a gig in Experimental Sound Gallery (ESG-21), St. Petersburg, played on 11.03.2013 to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of publication of the famous «L’arte dei Rumori» manifesto by Luigi Russolo.

«On one hazy night I met an elderly man sitting in an old wooden chair. He was wearing an elegant white suit and I could not help noticing the simple white lines in his fore- and middle fingers. In the remaining fingers he had circles. The pitch-black sand of the shore absorbed all the light from the sky. Regardless, I saw fifty-meter-high waves crashing down behind him – and at the same time, they remained static.»

‘Spectrum DCXCIII: Poison Portals’ has a luring, fatal beauty of its own. Redirecting, throbbing analog electronics, slowly swallowing droning textures and sinuous rhythms are accompanied with eternal, eerie melodies – all reeking of the primordial pleasures. Obscure radio transmissions and telepathic resonances are emerging from the parallel universes and will sink you even deeper into the ignorance of your very self or towards the ravishing beauty of transformation.

The other worlds and realities are present both in sound and vision; A triple-bladed iron dagger, brought to this world through trancework. Assume its form, pass the Poison Portals, and continue until the opposites intermingle and known territories vanish beneath the colossal waves.

This CD version also includes the previously limited ‘The Mass Rattle’ ep with tracks ‘The Viscous Tomb Liquid’ and a Telepath Remix of the ‘I am His Sacrifice’.

The album is enclosed in a customised and screen printed Sublunar series cardboard covers, including five two-sided insert cards. Limited to 300 copies.

Merzbow (メルツバウ Merutsubau) is a Japanese noise project started in 1979 by Masami Akita (秋田 昌美 Akita Masami).

The name Merzbow comes from the German dada artist Kurt Schwitters’ artwork Merzbau, in which Schwitters transformed the interior of his house using found objects. The name was chosen to reflect Akita’s dada influence and junk art aesthetic. In addition to this, Akita has cited a wide range of musical influences from progressive rock, heavy metal, free jazz, and early electronic music to non-musical influences like dadaism, surrealism, and fetish culture. Since the early 2000s, he has been inspired by animal rights and environmentalism, and began to follow a vegan, straight edge lifestyle.

As well as being a prolific musician, he has been a writer and editor for several books and magazines in Japan, and has written several books of his own. He has written about a variety of subjects, mostly about music, modern art, and underground culture.

New full length album by one of France’s most singular contemporary composer. Reflecting on ancient culture’s use and reverence for emblematic monuments which most often represent myths and stories, the album’s narrative has been infused with such symbolic and depicts an envisioned mythology, unfolding through it’s 10 aural pieces. Franck Vigroux‘s music is unique and comprised of tectonic tension, pulsating rhythms and abrasive analog textures like few can produce. Applying his own calculated personal signature in his sonic explorations his distinctiveness comes not only by his unique approach to sound but also by his incorporation of new media practices and performing arts into his A/V work.

“Golpea Tu Cerebro” (“Shake Your Brain”) is the first ever vinyl compilation dedicated to the unknown yet fascinating Spanish underground cassette scene from the ’80s.

In the early 80s, with few resources but unlimited imagination, youngsters all across Spain started recording at home their experimental, noise, electronic and industrial cassettes.

They were influenced by DIY, Futurism, Dada as well as by the early Industrial bands (Throbbing Gristle, Whitehouse, Nurse With Wound, S.P.K, Cabaret Voltaire, NON, Esplendor Geométrico, etc), which were championed in Spain thanks to adventurous radio shows, fanzines and mail order catalogues selling imported and domestic albums and cassettes.

We’re talking about what probably was the first DIY and truly independent music scene in Spain. The dark side of the “Movida”. Individualism and avant-gardism in opposition to superficiality and emptiness. Most of these projects were just one-man operations or collectives created by friends. We’re talking about underground tape labels like ä.d.n, El Consumo Del Miedo, Auxilio de Cientos, S.T.I., Obreros del Sonido, Toracic Tapes, 3EM…and fanzines like Cloruro Sónico, Necronomicon, Particular Motors, Syntorama, El Papel de la Merienda…

They released their cassettes in limited homemade editions and there were lot of exchanges with other creators and participations in compilation cassettes from worldwide labels within the International Tape Network.

Featuring legendary names like LA OTRA CARA DE UN JARDÍN, COMANDO BRUNO, LÍNEA TÁCTICA. FRANCISCO LÓPEZ, UVEGRAF, ÉTICA MAKINAL, L’AKSTREMAUNÇIÓ, NEO ZELANDA, SEPTIEMBRE NEGRO, TÉCNICA MATERIAL, FÍSODO 13.4 along with obscurities like EL ENTERRADOR ENTERRADO, 1985, ZUMBI-2, BRIGADA NADIE and more.

Including tracks originally released on rare cassettes and compilations along with a few previously unreleased ones.

Sound taken from the original cassettes / reel-to reels and remastered by Ángel Álvarez (Septiembre Negro / Linneo Dos).

Primitive harsh noise; dark electronics; wild tape manipulation; electroacoustic noise and just homemade weirdness…

52 page bilingual English / Spanish insert includes and introduction/ essay and detailed info about each artist. Lots of photos and memorabilia are also included.

RIYL: ESPLENDOR GEOMÉTRICO, THROBBING GRISTLE, NON, WHITEHOUSE, NURSE WITH WOUND, VIVENZA, MAURIZIO BIANCHI…

*2LP EN CAJA RÍGIDA DE CARTÓN CON LIBRETO BILINGÜE ESPAÑOL / INGLÉS DE 52 PÁGINAS.
    *SONIDO REMASTERIZADO

Recomendado si te gustan: ESPLENDOR GEOMÉTRICO, THROBBING GRISTLE, NON, WHITEHOUSE, NURSE WITH WOUND, VIVENZA, MAURIZIO BIANCHI, MERZBOW…
