    Merzbow

    Merzbow (メルツバウ Merutsubau) is a Japanese noise project started in 1979 by Masami Akita (秋田 昌美 Akita Masami).

    The name Merzbow comes from the German dada artist Kurt Schwitters’ artwork Merzbau, in which Schwitters transformed the interior of his house using found objects. The name was chosen to reflect Akita’s dada influence and junk art aesthetic. In addition to this, Akita has cited a wide range of musical influences from progressive rock, heavy metal, free jazz, and early electronic music to non-musical influences like dadaism, surrealism, and fetish culture. Since the early 2000s, he has been inspired by animal rights and environmentalism, and began to follow a vegan, straight edge lifestyle.

    As well as being a prolific musician, he has been a writer and editor for several books and magazines in Japan, and has written several books of his own. He has written about a variety of subjects, mostly about music, modern art, and underground culture.

    «Rúnaákall» is related to the runes , and each rune has a different vibe according to what it represents to us and what it represented to the scandinavian people. The album also is about shamanism ,nature ,and magic, a shamanic view of the meaning of the runes. We express in the form of music what we feel and understand about nature in a primitive,tribal and ritualistic way.

    Munknörr is a project of Nordic and Celtic music with shamanic elements. In our compositions we seek for a pagan sound with a dark ,mystic , and primitive atmosphere.

    With our soundscapes we also try to make people feel in contact with ancient times.

    /// ESP///

    “Rúnaákall” se relaciona con las rúnas nórdicas, cada runa o composición tiene una atmósfera diferente según lo que represente la runa , para nosotros y lo que representó para el pueblo escandinavo.
    El álbum también esta relacionado con la naturaleza , la magia , es una visión chamánica del significado de las runas . Expresamos en forma de música lo que sentimos y entendemos sobre la naturaleza en una forma primitiva , tribal y ritualista.

    Munknörr es un proyecto de música Nórdica , Celta, con elementos chamánicos. En nuestras composiciones buscamos un sonido pagano con una atmósfera mística, oscura , y primitiva.

    Tratamos de llevar a la gente a paisajes sonoros que tienen que ver con tiempos ancestrales.

    Kazeria – Live in Madrid

    The eternal city. Full of symbols and their perennial meanings.
    Through the ages, Madrid became a primordial knot of cultures and civilizations. And a witness of their rise and fall, their clashes and their broken swords. Stone upon a stone. Blood by blood. Tragedy and faith. Those who follow Kazeria know that Spain and its historical and spiritual legacy are inspiring to my work.

    This recording collects the first Kazeria concert in Madrid as well as in Europe, held on last January, 24th. It was taken with the rusticity of a live ambience recording and edited into a single track to reflect the spirit of the performance and interaction with a kind and comitted audience. No «hi-fi» edition nor overdub technics. Just a climatic and ritual aura for a great evening. The album also includes «Gladium Spiritus», a track specially composed for the occasion, and some pics.

    I want to express my gratitude to the great friends in Espacio Palma 38 / Rara Avis (Jorge, Claudia, Rafa and crew) for putting their effort and profesionalism in arranging all things up. Same goes to GH Records for promoting the gig and also to everyone involved with it. Honour and thanks to all these kindred spirits.
